The Telecommunications Engineering programmes at the UAB qualify students for the officially regulated professions of telecommunications engineer in all specialisations. The bachelor's degree equips students with the competencies of a technical engineer, while the master's degree is essential to attain the professional qualifications of a senior engineer.
To gain entry to a university master's programme, you must hold an official bachelor's degree. This requirement means that students who, at the end of the academic year, are a few credits short of completing their bachelor's studies, due to the lack of having enrolled in an optional subject or the final degree project, must wait until the following year before they can enrol in a master's programme.
The solution to this unwanted interruption is the Academic Programme with Successive Pathway (Programa Acadèmic amb Recorregut Successiu, PARS).
The PARS between the bachelor's degree in Electronic Telecommunications Engineering and the master's degree in Telecommunications Engineering allows students who have not fully completed their undergraduate degree to enrol in the master's programme. Students are required to have a maximum of 30 credits remaining to complete, including the final year project (TFG), and to enrol in these credits in the same academic year in which they begin their master's degree. However, students will only be able to enrol in their master's degree Final Thesis (TFM) once they have passed the bachelor's degree Final Project (TFG).
The coordinated organisation of these two programmes ensures that there is no overlapping of timetables, contents or teaching loads.
