The adoption of the Open Science Strategy at the UAB and the commitments made by the Governing Council in January 2024 include the creation of the Open Science Advisory Committee, which will lead the strategy on the basis of an Action Plan, carry out training and awareness-raising activities for the entire community, and work in a collaborative and interdisciplinary manner. One of the actions set out in this Action Plan is the creation of the UAB Open Science Awards.

The aim of these Open Science Awards is to recognise initiatives that promote open science carried out by applicants, as well as to continue incentivising such initiatives with the funds allocated to these awards.

The total prize fund for these awards is €5,000.

Academic staff with research responsibilities; technical, management, administrative and support staff with recognised research experience, and PhD students at the Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona are eligible to apply.

The UAB Open Science Awards Call for Applications sets out the requirements that applicants must meet, the assessment criteria and the link to the application form. The deadline is 31 July.

We encourage you to submit your application.
